Department of Botany

The department of biology was established in the year 1947 and since then it is the only undergraduate department of the Sardar Patel University offering undergraduate degree courses in Botany and Zoology.

Apart from this, department also enrols students in Ph. D. programme in Botany, Zoology and Environmental science.

There are five faculty members out of which four are Ph. D. holders and one holding the M.Phil.

The department maintains its own botanical garden having more than 180 different species of plants including medicinal plants. Our garden is used for open class teaching for the students.
