The BCA Department was established in 1999 with an initial intake of 60 students, driven by the high demand for computer application professionals.
The Department boasts an advanced laboratory equipped with 60 PCs of the latest configuration, along with printers, an LCD projector, scanners, and other peripherals. It houses 20 different licensed software packages to facilitate teaching various programming languages.
The BCA Department provides internet access to students through a dedicated laboratory and campus-wide Wi-Fi. It also supports the maintenance of all computers across the college.
The Department organizes annual events, including industrial visits, expert talks, and competitions, as detailed below:
1) Expert Talks: The Department hosts expert talks on topics such as Cyber Security & Ethical Hacking, competitive exams (GCET, CAT, MAT, MCA, MBA), recent IT trends, career opportunities, management with IT education, IT industry scope, and technologies like .NET and Java.
2) Competitions: Compu-Carnival, an annual event, features competitions like programming and website development, inviting students from various colleges under Sardar Patel University.
3) Industrial Visits: The Department arranges visits to organizations such as BISAG, BSNL, and the 108 Emergency Service Center, among others.
4) Add-on Certificate Courses: The Department offers certificate courses like “Web Site Designing” and “Techno Learn” to provide advanced knowledge, particularly for students from non-computer backgrounds.
The Department has developed various software solutions, including Fee Receipt Generation for Self-Financed Courses, a Feedback System, and the College Website.
