The NCC is one of the largest youth organizations of India with more than 12 lakh cadets on the roll. The NCC aims to develop character, courage, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure, sportsmanship and the ideals of selfless service in the youth. It also aims at creating a human resource of organized, trained and motivated youth to provide leadership in all walks of life including Armed Forces.

   Students who join the NCC as cadets are given training in various skills like handling fire arms, leadership, adventure sports etc. The cadets can also get an opportunity to attend the Republic Day Parade at Delhi, Thal Sena Camp, Army Attachment Camp (subject to selection).

   During the three years of their training the cadets have to attend the Combined Annual Training Camp and also take the "B" and "C" certificate examinations. Cadets getting a high percentage in "C" certificate get bonus points when applying for certain jobs. It also plays an important role in securing Short Service Commission in the Armed Forces.

   NCC cadets of V.P. Science college have excelled at various camp held at different places in India and brought laurels to the college.

   NCC is a way of life that brings about positive changes in the attitudes of cadets towards life and career.
